Need help?

Yes, I do.

I'm creating this blog to help myself and others out there make the Swiss Garden International Vacation Club (SGIVC) experience a less painful one.

Our problems

1. We're stuck with our membership, it's not easy to get a buyer
2. We're stuck with the inconvenience of making a reservation with SGIVC
3. We're stuck with crappy hotels

We can't do much about No.3 but we certainly can do something about No.1 and No.2.

I'm calling for all SGIVC members who think they fall into the group above to come and connect in this blog.

Why it's useful to do so?

1. Gold members like me are stuck with the limitation of booking 1 room per vacation stay.
  • We can use this blog to exchange our room allocations (I book for you, you book for me so both can get 2 rooms)
  • We can offer to sell our allocations here (instead of letting them burn)
2. We can use this blog to do the following:
  • offer to sell our membership
  • platform for potential buyers (you'll ask who wants to buy this now, but if the price is low enough to trade-off the inconveniences I believe some people may not mind it)

    Do you know what is AR registered letter?

  4. Anaz, unfortunately I don't know what is an AR registered letter. Why not try to contact the person who wrote the post in that forum? I believe you should be able to send him/her a private message.

  6. Hi All,

    I am just feeling weird that why myself, relatives and friends enjoyed so much being SGIVC member yet some of you all seems to suffer?

    I thought that we are aware that Gold membership entitlement are as such and that's why there is 4 different memberships being offered catered to our needs.

    If we knew that we required 2 rooms at the same travel dates, so we would purchase the membership that suits us. Not mourn later.

    At first I thought that I am enuf with gold membership, but later I felt that I want to bring my parents around so, I upgraded my membership to platinum. As it really save my accommodation rates up to 75%. I rather use that money for shopping. So i felt so worthwhile joining the club and save those money for shopping then to pay for all those expensive room rates.

    Just a joke for example: If we go to a cafe ordered a plate of fried rice, we knew that we want two fried eggs; we aren't to order the fried rice with one egg, then scold the cafe for not serving 2 eggs, aren't we???

  7. The problem is that they *did not* say that I cannot book 2 rooms parallel with my membership when I signed up.

    I ordered the fried rice expecting fried rice but ended up getting half a fried rice and half a fried noodle. If I signed up knowing these facts I won't be whining here because I deserved it.

    So thanks for your comment about how you get to enjoy all the benefits while all of us here are just mourners who deserve it.

    I'm curious though, why all of a sudden the surge of GOOD comments about SGIVC on my blog posts. I just hope that it's because SGIVC finally has improved which I have yet to notice and not just come cyber troopers trying to make SGIVC looks good.

  8. I like to read on blogs but frankly speaking I seldom place my comments too.
    I do agree with sooky, which at first, I felt frustrated with SGIVC due to their rooms booking entitlement.

    Later on, I do understand that to be fair to the other Platinum members, they can’t be able to honor us so many rooms at one time. The Platinum members would be upset if they allowed us, the Gold package members to book as many rooms as the Platinum members.

    My friends and myself did enjoyed the membership of SGIVC after get to know more about the usage and being neutral and understanding to the situation. I have to say that, no products are perfect in a way. From what I seen during their last AGM, the members who attended are reasonably satisfied and happy with their membership.

    And again, I also agreed with sooky that especially Asians they are very reluctant to give credits on blogs or surveys. Normally, we Asians do aggressively submit their dissatisfaction through these channels. Shall they are satisfied, very seldom they will put it into surveys or blogs or any other mediums. Personally I am in the F&B service line for 20years and I do realized this do happens to Asians; I make it a point to filled up those survey forms while dining or stay in any hotels if I am happy with their service or any of their staffs tender a very good service to me.

  9. So when I browse through the internet looking for a certain products or services if the users are mostly Asians, I saw mostly bad comments. But in actual fact, the products or services are fine to many others, and this is also one of the reasons that I do not take negatives feedbacks from the website too seriously. But I do take it as slight reference for a certain products or services. Till I experience it myself, then only I do justify whether those products or services are good or bad.

    That is an over-generalizing statement about Asians. Comments/opinions are subjective. And I did not in any way hint that Asians are reluctant to give credits.

    Anyway, my problem with SGVIC is not about why Gold members does not get to enjoy same benefit as Platinum. But rather why had important terms and conditions like not being able to book 2 rooms at the same time be hidden from us in the first place?

    Maybe you would like to see SGIVC on this matter to discuss further. I can't be comment much on this as I do not have any problems about not being able to book 2 rooms at the same time being hidden; as it was made knowledge to us before joining as their members.

    Secondly, hopefully you don't get me wrong about Asians. As I am making a statistic of majority.

  15. I have already pay more than half the price but never use except for the free stay. I planned to go to Hong Kong and Shenzhen, SGIVC does not have hotels in both areas, so inconvenience. My husband and I planned to terminate our membership, thinking losing 12K is better than losing 19K. I saw a hotel somewhere in China and it is 3 months away from our plan vacation. I just try my luck booking the hotel. And the same time My husband and prepared the termination letter. We when over to HQ, after a few arguments, we made a deal, if we got the China hotel, we continue, if not the termination letter is valid. After two weeks I got the hotel with surcharge of RM150, stay for 6 day, 5 night,one room. The hotel was comfortable and spacious with two twin beds, all of us in he same room. Quite an enjoyable stay. I want to try booking again for the next school holiday. My overall opinion, if we have pay, let's stay and optimized the benefit to the max. It is a very good idea that we have a group of our own so that we can exchange and share where the club is lacking. (especially in the case of booking 2 rooms).

But still I trust my own judgement on the product which I have just bought from sgivc because i have no issue with it. I hope the rest can try to understand more with them.

    Spot on your 3 points which I totally agree. I've been to nearly all their home based resorts and hotels and it's either they're crappy and run down or inconveniently located (shall I mention Lumut??)

    And trying to book a room even 2 months ahead for the school holidays is almost impossible for their home based resorts. But when I call enquiring for a booking as a non member, rooms are actually available!! As a member who pays upfront I think members should get priority.

    Anyway after being a member for 2 years, I want to bail out as I think it is not worth it.

    Has anyone cancelled their agreement? There is a clause in the agreement but the law jargon is not easy to comprehend.

    I have consider to buy a timeshare..but after reading all this it is tat all true? i know timeshare all have home resort/hotel and can be use to exchange to others but is there any charges? if yes wat sort of charge fees they charging? by category? or location? or wat?

  29. I hope this blog is still active. I am a 11 days old signed up victim. I consider myself victim because of these reasons. Yesterday I finally received my ID and today happily trying out the booking system. But to my surpsrise and disappointment there were many hidden things that the sale person didn't inform us. 1. We were told that the days can be used anyhow we like. Didn't mention MIN 2 nights for local and 3 nights for oversea. We did asked if can be used for weekend only and by default should be 2 days 1 night. Of course they told us we can.
    2. We were not inform about the 4 days weekend only. If wants more have to exchange with 2 days weekdays. After we relaized this and asked the sales person, the sales person still convinced us 14 days weekend! I am speechless.
    2. We were not told about the 10 days cooling period at all! What they told us just that we can try for one yr and the first year installment will be forfeited. When i cross-checked with the HQ, they said there will be extra surcharge for the cancellation.
    3. All the emails such as invoice, voucher, email verification and others all were received in my Inbox.. ONLY the most important documents the rules and regulations was received in my SPAM mail with the tital receipt. I really feel that they purposely did this so that we missed out the term and condition and they conveniently arrange our ID to active and usable just on the 10th days of signing up so that there is very slightest chance for us to cancel. They never asked us to check if we recieve the documents like how they asked us to check the others.
    4. Tried to call their membership service centre few times but line is always busy. So i try different trick and manage to speak to few of them. They promise to discuss this with the related department and get back to me today but nothing. I tried with FB not helping. Email require 3 working days to respond.

    When i checked the list of hotel thoroughly.. most of them are not even located at convenient locations. Asian countries selection are so limited. I hope tomorrow there will be good news but the chances look slim. I am now trying to convinced myself to enjoy the stay at repeated hotels burning my annual leaves for the coming 15 years. Crying with no tears.

  34. I had very nasty experience with SGI vacation club. My husband is the main member and I'm the subsidiary member. All the while SGI vacation club have been sending email on promotions and good deals to both me and my husband. However, the reminder to pay monthly installment was only send to my husband's email account and I didn't receive a single email on this! which I'm not sure why?? My husband's father recently passed away and he as the eldest child had to take care of both official & unofficial issues pertaining his family and during this while my husband didn't have any time to check his emails. Guess what happen, they terminated our account and we only reliaise it 1 month later when my husband called their credit center. They gave reason that, they had called & emailed him but no reply the account was auto terminated due to overdue installment. We asked them if they other ways to appeal to retrive the account but they gave us cold shoulder and said nothing can be done. The guy from credit centre even said , I have already told your husband nothing can be done and you are calling again, the answer is the same, 'NOTHING CAN BE DONE' he emphasized, unless you want to take up a tribunal or a lawyer to fight up the case!. He refused to listen more when I told him the reason for delayed payment and when I asked him the reason why no reminder email was sent me which could have helped us to avoid this situation! He said this is the procedure, no way to help me.
    All the sweet talk when signing the contract and now vice versa.. We lost all the money we paid them without enjoying the benefits, really frustrating.
    I don't understand why they can't send a black and white reminder letter to house address instead of emails which might be mistakenly not seen.

  38. I paid downpayment on 13/2/2021 and today 19/2/2021, I submitted withdrawal letter thru email to SGIVC because of personal matter and it is within 10days cooling off period. Based on contract, I should get back all my money, but not sure yet. still communicating with SGIVC.

    SGIVC has replied my email informing receipt of my letter and soon I shall be contacted by their agent.

    Again, please be informed that I need to cancel this because of personal matter. And I stated the story here if there are future people who needs to cancel them like me within cooling off period.

  39. Is this still valid? now worse, home based hotel only left three places, apartment in damai laut , kuantan and KL. whoever wish to join to stay overseas is worth, but not staying local. I want to let go my gold membership for free. anyone interested WhatsApp only at 0163653113.
