Not sure if anyone else is having this same problem.
I downloaded the latest e-statement for entitlement nights balance from the SGIVC website. It clearly showed that I have 7 nights balance to-date. But when I tried to make reservation via e-Go, it complained that I do not have entitlement nights to proceed!
What a joke?!
The biggest joke however is what comes after that:
- Tons of phone calls to complain about it, being given empty promise that it is being taken care of. The IT department was notified but the problem was never solved! Brilliant!
- One week gone, no news.
- Called, called and called again with fury: Person in charge away.
- Emailed with a nicer tone: No reply as if my email was mis-sent to Timbuktu!
- My first email to ask about why the website doesn't allow me to make reservation was on Nov 10... Now, 3 weeks later, it's still unsolved. The 'workaround' they've given me, that I can just email them the reservation to be processed obviously doesn't work-around.
I emailed them on Nov 15.
But:
No news.
No news.
No news.
I think SGIVC's service quality has just reached a new level!
UPDATE (4 May 2012): Just an update to how this problem ended. It turned out that SGIVC's system did not know how to automatically convert your weekdays to weekends. eg. If I have 7 week days balance and wanted to book a weekend day (which they said can be done by converting 2 weekdays to 1 weekend), the system kept blocking me from booking because I only have 7 weekdays and no weekends to deduct from. So in the event you ran into similar issue like I did and the SGIVC officer took ages to find out what's wrong, you may ask them to check this out if this is the problem before starting to pull your hair like I did!
me too..
ReplyDeletei think is their trick not to let out during peak season.
u can sovle the problem by changing the desired date to a very very low season.

Read the following judgement, if all members put hands together, they have to provide better services than promised.

Deletebeen a member for 2 years now but so far no problem...I think you should try to discuss with em again as I think SGIVC offers a very good product and services...
ReplyDeleteHi love_psycho, I'm glad that you're still optimistic. I've been SGIVC for about 6 years and all I can say is I get more and more disappointed over the years, as more and more unfulfilled promises cropped up. Probably SGIVC is trying their best to service us, but their biggest error was to engage some dishonest sales agents in the beginning who promised the sky and the earth to the consumers while hiding their terms and conditions.
ReplyDeleteSGIVC members should form a liaison committee as that done by Berjaya Vacation Club members. This will help to ensure we get what they have promised, at least the available number of resorts is maintained. Regret the poor response from members. May be mostly have given up hope.
DeleteDear Sooky,
DeleteMay i know what did the sales agents promise you and not fullfill? I do believe service can never be perfect, i have my fair shares of ups & downs in SGIVC but nevertheless they manage to make it up to me.
Hi BMG,
DeleteWhen I signed up a lot of details were hidden from me. I only knew about the 7 days for my membership means 5 weekdays and 2 weekends after I signed up. And that 2 week days are needed to convert to to 1 weekend. So it actually means the 7 days is not really 7 days because how many of us have the luxury to go on holidays during weekdays (when we have limited annual leaves to spare)... well, maybe many else can, but definitely not me. Also, when I signed up, the clause of cannot book 2 rooms at the same time was not informed. The whole intention of me wasting so much money buying this membership was to be able to bring my parents for holiday, but with this in place how am I going to do that. Some people may say you can upgrade to Platinum to get the benefit, but hey if I knew I had to pay the Platinum price to get parallel rooms, I would have opted to not buy the membership and choose to pay full price for holidays on my own, instead of being binded to something like this...
Dear Sooky,
DeleteIf my memory serves me well, there is an odd/even package which would give you 2 rooms for every booking, you did not opt for that? 5 weekdays are not really hard to spend just convert them, or even better just advancing your nights from the next year. The year which you borrowed, just take your family somewhere else for a change. As an investor, inflation in property never stops. But the package you sign up will never ask for more money. So it is rather a good investment in the next 30yrs (22 more for me) you get to enjoy flat rates.
I'm a bit tired explaining how I ended up here again and again. Anyway, everyone is entitled to their own opinions so if you're good, I'm good.
DeleteDear Sooky,
DeleteFret not, i understand your problems. Try to make the best out of your SGIVC membership, since we cant get back our money anyways. Probably you could trade entitlement nights with other members, so that you can get the extra room you needed at your holidays. And repay the nights the following year to them, give n take :) Stay positive, cheers.
Hi...
ReplyDeleteEh, I attended SGIVC annual meeting before, they have liaison committee. So far, during the meeting, I found that the members are satisfied with SGIVC. I even chat with some of the liaison committee. Some of them holding some others membership from other vacation clubs. haha...they commented that SGIVC's meeting went on very smooth. I heard that the others really had hard times. That is maybe why some of them has stop recruiting new members.
Sooky, I agree that sometimes I the line is difficult to get through but you may try to call at 3pm. Cause mostly I call at that time, and my calls are being handle professionally. Nowadays, I seldom call them up already. Everything goes online for me thru e-go.
Ya, ya... I agreed that the sales people should not promise heaven & earth on behalf of the company. As I introduce my friend to SGIVC last month, they are strict with their sales personnel.
ReplyDeleteMy friend is amazed with their honesty and he joined SGIVC member. Even thou, he did some random check on SGIVC and it turned out to be much satisfied, as what they promised was being delivered.
Just some travel sharing, I went to Swiss-Garden Kuantan last 2months. I love the resort and I love the beach there. Frankly speaking, it was my first time to Kuantan. So, addicted. Really think of going to Kuantan more and more often. Stress in the city; at least a short travel n holiday as such really relax my mind. Preventing myself going crazy. haha...
Thanks to SGIVC, if I am not SGIVC member, I won't be making an effort to travel to Kuantan. hehe....
Good to know that their sales personnel has improved, at least there will be less victims like myself going forward.
ReplyDeleteHaha...ya. Sooky, hope that you could re-utilize your entitlements and enjoyed it as much as we do :) The e-go holiday should be no problem already. As so far myself and my friends have no problems booking our rooms.
ReplyDeletecheers...
Simone, yes I agree. To be fair to SGIVC, I do acknowlegde their effort to try to make things better for us. The e-GO system is a good example. At least it provides better transparency to us members on the rooms availability and we can easily plan for alternative holiday plan when home-based hotel rooms are not available.
ReplyDeleteBut for booking of affiliate hotels, it still has a lot of room for improvements...
Ya, true. Maybe should have that on e-go.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the affiliate hotel? So far, no problem with it wor.
If I am not mistaken, recently they have added some new affiliates in Thailand. I have browse through the member website, they look attracted to me.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of Thailand, I think I will stay at either one during my next visit. Tee hee ;)

I've read the comments but seems like they are promoting Berjaya.. Are you sure ANONYMOUS that the post was not created by Berjaya staff as well??
ReplyDeletehi SGIVC members, i would like to be friends with u all. I'm a member too. But seldom utilise all the entitlements, would to be friends so i have someone to talk n share the experiences to some SGIVC locations. email me at: lyndd69@hotmail.com

Hi everyone. Can someone lodge a formal report to KPDNKK Tribunal Pengguna about this SGIVC shit?
ReplyDeleteThe information offered before signing is very vague and misleading. After signing then we know the real problem with the whole system and the huge trouble in front of us.
Does any SGIVC agent tell us that we need to compete like hell just to book a room?
Please someone with credible and credential do make an official complaint here:
