SGIVC Members Facebook group

Just something that came up after taking in a suggestion from another member (LynD). Since it'll be good to have a place where all members can post their thoughts or exchange requests, I've created the following Facebook group. Please join it if you're interested:

Group Address: sgivcmembers@groups.facebook.com
http://www.facebook.com/groups/sgivcmembers/

Thanks.

UPDATE: It appears that there is already an existing FB group called "Victim of Swiss Garden International Vacation Club - Malaysia - SGIVC".

Has it gone from bad to worse?!

Not sure if anyone else is having this same problem.

I downloaded the latest e-statement for entitlement nights balance from the SGIVC website. It clearly showed that I have 7 nights balance to-date. But when I tried to make reservation via e-Go, it complained that I do not have entitlement nights to proceed!

What a joke?!

The biggest joke however is what comes after that:

- Tons of phone calls to complain about it, being given empty promise that it is being taken care of. The IT department was notified but the problem was never solved! Brilliant!

- One week gone, no news.

- Called, called and called again with fury: Person in charge away.

- Emailed with a nicer tone: No reply as if my email was mis-sent to Timbuktu!

- My first email to ask about why the website doesn't allow me to make reservation was on Nov 10... Now, 3 weeks later, it's still unsolved. The 'workaround' they've given me, that I can just email them the reservation to be processed obviously doesn't work-around.

I emailed them on Nov 15.

But:

No news.

No news.

No news.

I think SGIVC's service quality has just reached a new level!

UPDATE (4 May 2012): Just an update to how this problem ended. It turned out that SGIVC's system did not know how to automatically convert your weekdays to weekends. eg. If I have 7 week days balance and wanted to book a weekend day (which they said can be done by converting 2 weekdays to 1 weekend), the system kept blocking me from booking because I only have 7 weekdays and no weekends to deduct from. So in the event you ran into similar issue like I did and the SGIVC officer took ages to find out what's wrong, you may ask them to check this out if this is the problem before starting to pull your hair like I did!

I need to complain to feel better!

Life goes on, but it goes on better if we can vent our frustration.

Complain all you want here!

Allocation Exchange

While waiting for someone to buy my membership, life has to go on.

I needed 2 rooms (for 2 days) for a vacation I planned for one of the home-based hotels. But I'm not allowed to book 2 rooms.

So if anyone can exhange 1 week day + 1 week night with me (ie. I too book for 1 week day + 1 week night for you), can you please leave a comment here so that we can discuss this further?

Thanks.

UPDATE: Managed to get the exchange I need. Thanks LYL! :)

SGIVC Membership for sale

I want to sell mine at a low price.  Still juggling in the actual price.  Will update soon.

Swiss Garden International Vacation Club Gold Membership
- about 25 years left
- 7 days per year (can be carried forward 1 year)

Others with membership to sell, please feel free to add into the comments of this post.

Need help?

Yes, I do.

I'm creating this blog to help myself and others out there make the Swiss Garden International Vacation Club (SGIVC) experience a less painful one.

Our problems

1. We're stuck with our membership, it's not easy to get a buyer
2. We're stuck with the inconvenience of making a reservation with SGIVC
3. We're stuck with crappy hotels

We can't do much about No.3 but we certainly can do something about No.1 and No.2.

I'm calling for all SGIVC members who think they fall into the group above to come and connect in this blog.

Why it's useful to do so?

1. Gold members like me are stuck with the limitation of booking 1 room per vacation stay.
  • We can use this blog to exchange our room allocations (I book for you, you book for me so both can get 2 rooms)
  • We can offer to sell our allocations here (instead of letting them burn)
2. We can use this blog to do the following:
  • offer to sell our membership
  • platform for potential buyers (you'll ask who wants to buy this now, but if the price is low enough to trade-off the inconveniences I believe some people may not mind it)
